All coaches need to complete the following checklist in order to be ready for the new season.

1. Complete the team application on the CASL web site under REGISTRATION by July 15th each year. Only one per team. You will need the list of players and dates that are in conflict for scheduling. You will have another chance at the coaches meeting to change games as well but this is a good start if you know you can't play on some dates because of work, tournaments etc..

2. Complete the Tryout Roster form again at the CASL web site under REGISTRATION by July 15th.

3. The Coach, Asst coach, and team Manager need to complete the Code of Ethics form on-line at the CASL web site.

4. The Coach, Asst coach, and team Manager need to complete the Risk Management registration on the CASL web site under Risk Management. There is a cost to the coaches and manager for this.

5. Have all your players register on-line again at the CASL web site under REGISTRATION by August 1st each year to avoid late fees.

6. Schedule a "Meet the Team Night" which should include the players and parents. This is your time to talk with the parents about your coaching style, expecations, and any other team issue. You can decide practice schedules, tournaments, have paper work completed (item 7 below), decide uniforms purchases etc..

7. Have each player parent complete and return the following two forms. At the team meeting this is good to get out of the way if you can have a notary present. Forms are on the CASL website under FORMS.

The Medical Release Form is required for every CASL player. It must be notarized and stays on file with the team. The coach or manager should keep these and have them present at every practice and game.

The Medical History Form is required for every CASL player. The coach or manager should keep these and have them present at every practice and game.

8. Get sizes and order uniforms. This can take a couple of weeks to a month to get so don't wait to long to place the order. You may also need to order your coaching supplies as well. Typically practice balls and a good ball for games. Home teams provide the game ball.

9. Get a thumbnail picture of each of your players. You will need these to put on the back of each player card before they are laminated. You will need the player cards before each game and player cards are passed out at the CASL coaches meeting just before the season gets started.

10. If you have any players that are dual enrolled. Players that are playing both CASL and a premier team (TNT Chill SBC etc..) you need to complete the MSYSA Dual enrollment form that is on the Coaches link above for those players.
